VOCM Partner Soldier On Opens Housing Complex

For the past three years, Voice of Calvary Ministries (VOCM) has been in partnership with Soldier On, headquartered in Leeds, Massachusetts., in our Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) initiative.  Through that program, we serve over five hundred homeless veteran families a year.  The relationship began in 2011, when a friend of VOCM’s saw an article about Soldier On’s housing development called the Gordon H. Mansfield Cooperative Housing Development.  It looked like upscale condominiums, and yet they were owned and operated by formerly homeless veterans.

After an initial meeting here in Jackson with Jack Downing, Founder and President of Soldier On, and three of his key staff persons, a formal relationship was established between VOCM and Soldier On.  Soldier On recently opened another Gordon H. This news is especially exciting as plans are moving forward to begin a Gordon H. Mansfield Development right here in Jackson, in partnership with Soldier On and several other local partners.
