Bea Bowman has been an intern at Voice of Calvary Ministries (VOCM) for the past two and one half months. Bea has been working with our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Team, specifically with Ms. Debra Raddin, Director of Mississippi College’s STEM Institute and a STEAM Team collaborative member. The time seems short we will miss Bea’s smile and her contribution to the STEAM Team. Here is Bea’s account of her time here in her own words:
My experience at working at Voice of Calvary was a truly pleasant one. While working here I learned so much about grant writing and Jackson Public School district. Before I came to Voice of Calvary, I had little knowledge on the subject of grant writing, but this experience has been very educational and interesting. I loved that the work I was doing was work that I felt like could actually make a difference in the world. Every day that I worked in the office I was greeted by some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. All of the people I have met through this experience are such kind and compassionate people that you can tell they love the work that they do.
Overall, working here has been such an honor for me. Though I have not been here long, I think that the work I have helped with will make a difference in the world, and I know that the people that work here have made a difference to me.
