5th Annual Trace Ride

On April 16th, Voice of Calvary Ministries hosted its 5th Annual Trace Ride as part of our On the Road to Health Initiative. This year we had ninety riders from various levels of experience in cycling. The ride consisted of a 5 mile fun ride, a 20, 37 and 53 mile ride, and the “Extreme Challenge Ride” of 67 miles, in acknowledgment of Phil Reed’s 67th birthday.

The ride began at Old Trace Park in Ridgeland and progressed north on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee was among the hearty souls that went the distance. We also gave a special award to Primus Wheeler, Executive Director of the Jackson Medical Mall Foundation. The Foundation has been one of our biggest supporters for each of the five years we have been doing the ride. We also had community partners who hosted the turnaround and refreshment booths, including SFC Lockett and SFC Gary and the Army Recruiting Station, the JSU Public Policy and Administration Student Association along with Dr. Andre Hines, faculty liaison, and One Church.
