Blight Elimination Program

VOCM in partnership with the City of Jackson and Mississippi Home Corporation have demolished 39 abandoned and dilapidated houses that posed safety and health risks to the community. These homes are located in the neighborhoods located between I220 and the Jackson Zoo.

Now that these blighted properties have been removed, we have begun the second phase of our program which includes building affordable, desirable housing on these lots. These new three bedroom homes will attract new families to the area and help stabilize this community.
