A collaborative effort among Purple Heart Homes, Owens Corning, Watkins Construction and Roofing and Voice of Calvary Ministries (VOCM) resulted in a new roof for a Vietnam War veteran, Mr. Arthur Mikell. Materials were donated by Owens Corning and Watkins Construction and Roofing installed the new, high quality roof. VOCM connected Mr. Mikell’s need with Purple Heart Homes’ mission and resources and helped Mr. Mikell through the application process.
The installation included the removal of the old tin roof, replacing some deteriorated decking and installing the new Owens Corning roof.The entire project started last Thursday at 7 a.m.
and was completed in one day at no cost to Mr. Mikell.
