I enjoy working at VOCM because it gives me the opportunity to give back not only to the community but also to those that have dedicated their lives to serve others. Above all I am thankful for working with a group of individuals who are committed not only to making the community better but us as individuals. Each one of my coworkers brings a certain skill to the table that constantly makes the job easier and for that I will be forever grateful.
My name is Bobby Fort I am 38 years old married for 10 years with 3 wonderful children ranging from ages 23 to 16 years old. A little about me I am a 1995 graduate of Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen, MS. After graduation I attended Itawamba Community College in Fulton, MS on a football scholarship. After completing two years at ICC I decided to leave school and enter into the work force. I spent numerous years working in factories before I was sent a wonderful spouse who enlightened me to see a far bigger picture than I could ever imagine. She convinced me to step out on faith, turn in a 2 weeks’ notice to a job I had worked for 10 years in order to reenroll in school and complete my college degree in social work in 2006. Reenrolling in school had to be one of the biggest decisions of my adult life. Leaving a job and taking a huge pay cut in order to work at a call center in order to return to school full-time seemed like a huge gamble but the payoff has been more of a blessing that I could have ever imagined. I just hope I continue to grow as a person and touch as many people as I can while I am in the position to do so.
